Institutional care for millions of dying people in the developing world is impossible. HOPE for AIDS comes alongside home-based caregivers with practical help giving the sick comfort, meds, food and companionship.
Update
The Ethiopian churches related to SIM have been training lay caregivers for a number of years, but will begin in earnest to do this in the needy city of Addis Ababa now that their Medan project has begun.
Facts
The countries where SIM works account for 70% of the total number of people living with HIV and AIDS around the world.
